About us
Sedgemoor Chess Club is a friendly and active chess community based in Bridgwater, Somerset. We run both an adult club and a growing junior section, welcoming players of all ages and abilities. Whether you’re completely new to chess or already experienced, you’ll find relaxed club nights during the season, friendly games, support for newer players, and opportunities to take part in internal events and competitions throughout the year.

WHERE WE MEET
Sedgemoor Chess Club meets at St George’s Parish Centre, Wembdon (TA6 7RP).
♙ Junior Club — Sessions normally run on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, from 6:15 PM to 7:15 PM, at the same venue, for children aged 7 to 14.
♙ Adult Club — We meet most Mondays during the season, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (sometimes until 10:30 PM on match nights).
The club has now stopped for the summer.
Our AGM will be held on Monday 7th September, and the adult club resumes on Monday 14th September.
HOW TO JOIN
♙ Junior Club — To join the junior section, please email sedgemoorchess@hotmail.com or message us on the Sedgemoor Chess Club Facebook page so we can confirm if we have spaces available.
♙ Adult Club — To join the adult club, simply come along on a Monday evening and see the club in action. Visitors are always welcome.
